AMA: Maggie Snow

Today’s blog features an AMA from Maggie Snow. She is currently the Manager at our Westside location, and has been part of the Chattahoochee Team for nearly 5 years. When I think of what makes Chattahoochee Coffee great I think of Maggie. She is an amazing leader and an exception coffee professional. Enjoy getting to know a little bit about her.

Why did you start working in coffee?

To be honest I started working in coffee to have a lighter job. Before coffee, I worked as a councilor for women coming out of the sex industry and human trafficking. Although it was very rewarding, it was also pretty heavy and coffee became an incredible escape for me. Once I started working there I started falling madly in love with the industry. I fell for the people and customers, the science behind it and simply the taste/experience you can have while drinking it.

Where did you start working in coffee?

I started working at our Riverside location after being a very faithful customer. I was in awe of the location, let alone the attention to detail and quality of coffee Counter Culture produces.

Who is your coffee sensei?

Oh wow. There are a lot of people in the coffee industry that I look up to. I can honestly say that Ben Helfen and Emily Davis taught me everything I know. They have constantly pushed my knowledge of this industry and have maintained a high character that I have admired. I’d easily say that are my coffee heroes.

What is your favorite coffee drink?

I love just a basic cup of drip. I think there is something to say about keeping it simple and it still giving you that moment of bliss in the morning.

What is your favorite non-coffee drink?

A solid margarita or a gin and tonic. It’s a toss up.

What's you favorite Atlanta spot?

My husband and I have had two incredible experiences at a couple Ford Fry restaurants: The Optimist and Marcel. But when I don’t have money in the budget for a night out, I really enjoy Heirloom BBQ, that is conveniently right next to our apartment.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

As a kid I wanted to be a princess, a politician, a teacher, and a firefighter…I’m still banking on being a princess someday.

What is your favorite movie?

I love the whimsy of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” but I am a huge Beauty and the Beast fan.

What do you like to do other than own Chattahoochee Coffee Co?

I like to hangout with my husband, my 9th grade small group at church, and support my friends in whatever they are pursuing.
